How the world has changed in such a short time!

I'm back! I know. Some of you thought I had given up blogging. I haven't. I've just been a bit busy. And, quite honestly, I 'm looking for more responses than I've received thus far! I guess you are busy, too, since you don't seem to respond. Anyway, in the few months that have passed since blogging, catastrophic events have literally shaken the earth. Have you ever seen such devastation and loss of human life in such a short period of time? As the apostle Paul wrote in Romans 8:22, I believe "all creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time...", with the end result being, "the release from sin and suffering" for the human race. (v. 23) I look forward to that day, don't you? However, the Word clearly teaches that it's going to get worse before it gets better. But be comforted, my friend. God chose to save us through our Lord Jesus Christ, not to pour out his anger on us! Christ died for us so that, whether we are dead or alive, when he returns, we can live with him forever. (I Thess. 5:9-10)

After reading your comments for today, I feel a great peace like never before. This puts everything in perspective, and it makes you realize that we will be going forward with Christ not dying like we all think when we hear "The end is coming". Thank you for the calming words.

great mini-sermon, Pastor B - I truly enjoy reading your blogs :) as I'm sure many others do as well. Forgive our quiet...as we know not how it irritates you!

My friend Diana and I were talking about this very issue a couple of weeks ago. I shared with her that I felt that we as Christians are sometimes shy and soft spoken when it comes to witnessing to our unsaved friends. But, how are we going to feel when the sky opens up one day and Jesus comes back to earth for judgement day? It will be too late at that moment to witness to our loved ones and we will have to watch them suffer the consequences of their actions and our indifference. How sad and scary is that?

You must forgive your readers their quiet, Pastor B. As with everything you say or write, you make us think... which isn't always conducive to an immediate response.
Thank you for all that you do for our church, and the city. We know you work hard. =)
